Perhaps no other kid in the history of Indian cinema garnered as much love and acclaim as Darsheel Safari did with his unforgettable act in Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par.
But despite winning several national and international accolades for his act in the film, the now 25 year old isn’t where he imagined he would be, when he started out his showbiz career as a 10 year old.
In an interview with Etimes, the actor dished on how he still hopes to be busy and occupied as an actor, like the rest of 25-something year old’s in the industry, many of whom happen to be star-kids.

Here’s what he was quoted telling the publication:
“My parents and friends would cajole me to have patience. I would revert saying that they cannot feel what I am undergoing because they are not in my shoes. The momentum had stopped, which is worst for an actor; band baj jaati hai (the person gets jacked). I wondered how I will get this time back.”
Darsheel also expressed his desire to work with present-day popular stars like Sara Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor:
“I want to work with them. Who wouldn’t? Janhvi and Sara are established names in the industry. I believe everyone gets his or her chance. Maybe in a couple of years, I will get mine, too.”
