84 YO Actor Surendra Rajan From Munnabhai MBBS, Shoots For His Last Film Before Retiring

Surendra Rajan, the actor who made everyone emotional with his role in the Superhit movie Munnabhai MBBS, comes out of retirement to shoot for the last movie of his career.

The veteran actor who has been part of many big banner movies and was recently spotted in Akshay Kumar’s Bachchan Pandey is finally bidding adieu to the film industry.

The 84 year old actor who’s now settled in Uttarakhand, has already been away from movies but decided to shoot for this movie which he says will be his last.

The film titled ‘Who Am I’ is a philosophical drama directed by Shireesh Khemariya and is set to have its world premiere at the 24th UK Asian film festival in London.

The 84 year old actor showed his determination and passion towards his work by travelling to Madhya Pradesh to shoot for the movie during the peak of the global health crisis, even though he took retirement from films.

Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, the actor shared the reason of choosing the movie and the details about the film.

Here’s what he was quoted telling the publication:

“I’m playing a character of Narmada Parikrama Wasi, a person spending his old age time on the banks of river Narmada. At this age, it was like enlightenment to play such a character; hence I gave it a nod. I left the film industry and started living in Himachal, but the concept struck a chord in my heart, so I decided to do the role and gave my all.”

While sharing the reasons behind him choosing to be a part of the movie the veteran actor said, “I was very much impressed by the title as it’s a very quintessential question we ask ourselves, i.e., Who Am I. I was in love with the script. I was very skeptical about working at this age, but when I saw this young crew showing so much enthusiasm, I felt it became my duty to encourage and support them. When they approached me, I felt really good because it’s a very untouched subject.”

Final movie of an actor who gave us many heart touching performances. We wish him all the best in his life ahead.
