“Mere didi gayi hai abhi”: Asha Bhosle Gets Teary-Eyed Remembering Lata Mangeshkar On Dance India Dance

It was her first major public appearance since the passing of Lata Mangeshkar, her elder sister who ruled the world of music for several decades – and Asha Bhosle, who herself was there right at the top of the charts, sharing the iconic status in music along with her sister, couldn’t contain her emotions.

The legendary diva made a rare appearance on Dance India Dance Lil’ Champs, and the contestants – with help of the show’s producers, put together a moving tribute to Ms. Mangeshkar, which brought the great Asha Bhosle to tears.

In one such act, kids were seen praying in front of a large picture of Lata Mangeshkar, placed on the stage – and the heartwarming moment instantly brought Ms. Bhosle to tears.

The promo for the episode, shows the veteran singer emotionally saying – “Mere didi gayi hai abhi, lekin mere saath hai.”

Lata Mangeshkar died of multi-organ failure at Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital on February 6.

Asha Bhosle herself is a legendary songstress of a similar stature, whose career, just like her late sister, has spanned over 7 decades.

There are some voices in music, who live-on, long after they’re gone.
