Karan Johar Showers Praises On The Kashmir Files, ‘It Is Not A Film, But A Movement’

Filmmaker Karan Johar has finally broken his silence over the biggest blockbuster of Bollywood in 2022 – The Kashmir Files.

The industry was lately receiving criticism from a certain segment of audiences for staying silent on the massive success and the response this Vivek Agnihotri directed movie got from the audience. But slowly many big names are also coming out in praise of the film.

In a recent interview, the Dharma productions-head called the film “a movement” and requested people to watch and learn from it.

Speaking to Galatta Plus, Karan said, “The Kashmir Files is not made on the budget like a lot of other movies. But it is probably going to be cost-to-profit the biggest hit of Indian cinema. I read on Box Office India and they said that such a movement hasn’t happened since Jai Santoshi Maa, since 1975.”

He further said that this movie has been able to connect with the audience and how budding filmmakers should learn from it, “You have got to acknowledge there is something that is connecting with this nation and academically you have to watch it. You have to watch it to absorb, to learn from it that look, there is this movement that has happened. It’s no longer a film, it’s a movement,” he said.

The Kashmir Files has crossed 300 crore mark with its Global Box Office collections and has also received praises from other Bollywood celebs such as Abhishek Bachchan, Kangana Ranaut and Aamir Khan.
