Actress Kangana Ranaut expressed her disappointment over American music awards – Grammy’s, for not honoring the late and great Lata Mangeshkar during their recently aired ceremony.
Lata Mangeshkar’s name was missing from In Memorium ceremony at the award function. Meanwhile, Oscars also failed to pay Homage to Lata Mangeshkar in their list of tributes last week.
Kangana was quick to notice the same and called out these award functions by labeling them ‘local awards’.
“We must take strong stands against any local awards who claim to be international and yet ignore and intentionally sideline legendary artists because of their race or ideologies… both Oscar and Grammy failed to give tribute to Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar Ji…” she said
Kangana also asked the fans and Indian media to boycott these awards. “Our media should totally boycott these biased local events who claim to be global awards…,” Kangana wrote on her Instagram Stories. She also wrote, “We should boycott these snooty western awards.”
Not Only Kangana but many fans over the internet also expressed their disappointment upon not seeing Lata Ji’s name in the list of tributes at these awards.
