Shreya Ghoshal is not only one of the top female vocalists in the country right now, she’s also someone who has often been compared to the late and great Lata Mangeshkar, for her divine vocal gift and angelic tonal quality.
The singer recently paid homage to the iconic songstress during a live performance, and got nearly choked up while performing a rendition of Ms. Mangeshkar’s old classic.
Shreya chose to sing Lata Mangeshkar’s hit song ‘Rahe Na Rahe Hum’ and the sweet and soulful sound of her voice moved the sea of her fans.
With the ‘Lag Ja Gale’ singer’s images displayed in the background, Shreya did complete justice to the late singer’s celebrated music, like only she could. So much so, that fans called the performance a ‘spiritual’ experience.

Lata Mangeshkar passed away earlier in February at the age of 92, after a month long battle at Mumbai’s Beach Candy hospital, after suffering from a bout of pneumonia.
It is clear to hear – that her legacy lives on through artists like Shreya.
