They’re no age-limit when it comes to falling in love with someone or wanting to ‘settle down’ and start a new chapter with someone.
Often times we see, how in our society, the desire to start that new chapter is considered obsolete for single parents who are navigating past the so-called ‘middle-age’. But there’s no need to shove that desire in a box, and throw it all away.
As is shown by a 52 year old single mother, who found love and a life partner again, in the presence of her grown son.
Her story was shared on Linkedin by her son, Jimeet Gandhi – who detailed how after becoming a widow at the age of 44 and going through a series of up’s and down’s in her life, like being diagnosed with breast cancer and battling depression, his mother finally found love and broke societal taboos’ by settling down at her age.
“She decided to break all stigmas, all taboos in Indian society and married someone she loves. She found #love at the age of 52.” – Jimeet wrote in his post, sharing a picture of her mother along with her new life partner.
Needless to say, the inspiring story went viral on the platform.
Truly we need to normalize this.
As Jimeet stated – “To all people of my generation back in India, if you have a single parent, please support their decision to find companionship.”
