‘Today my bathroom is as big as the house I once lived in’: Nawazuddin Siddiqui On His Success In Bollywood

Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s new house is symbolic of all the success he’s received in the Hindi film industry, attributed to his limitless talent and his dedication to his craft.

The actor’s plush new bungalow in Mumbai was the talk of the town a few weeks ago, which he named and renovated in memory of his father.

In a recent interview, the actor spoke of his journey in the film industry, and how this new big possession is in strike contrast with his early days in showbiz.

Speaking to Bombay Times, Nawazuddin said:

“Aaj jitna bada mera personal bathroom hai, utnasa mera ghar hua karta tha (Today my bathroom is as big as the house I once lived in). When I moved to Mumbai, I stayed in such a small place, which I shared with four other budding actors. Woh kamra itna chhota tha ki agar main door kholu toh kisi ke pairon mein lag jata tha, because, we all used to lay our beds on the floor when we slept there.”

He added:

“Dheere dheere (Slowly slowly), I started sharing my room with three people, then with two, and it is only from 2005 that I started living alone.”

Nawazuddin also remembered his late father while talking about his beautiful new property. He stated how his father wasn’t fond of living in the apartments of Mumbai, and wanted to have his own independent house.

“I always had this thing in my mind that I would get him to a bigger place in Mumbai one day, but he passed away before that. I wish my dad could see this bungalow.”

Truly Nawazuddin’s success-story is one that will inspire every artist, who aims to swim against the grain or the vanity-obsessed mainstream paradigm.
