Sameera Reddy Talks About Breaking Beauty Standards On Social Media, “Showing Stretch Marks, Grey Hair & Belly”

Sameera Reddy has lately been seen a lot on social media, where’s she’s developed a niche fan-following of her own, which looks forward to her daily titbits from her everyday life.

The actress, who was seen in popular roles in films like ‘Taxi 9211’ and ‘Darna Mana Hai’, has confronted her fans on social media without a beauty filter and without the need to cover anything up.

Breaking archaic beauty standards for women, Sameera is seen with her grey hair, and she’s also occasionally flaunted her stretch marks and belly.

Even though that initially shocked her audience online, who asked her to stop, Sameera continued to break the mold and has since normalized humane imperfections, spreading the message of body positivity among women.

Speaking on her journey on social media, here’s what the actress and now social media star, was quoted telling The Indian Express in a recent interview:

“When I got on to social media and I started to show my belly, my stretch marks, my grey hair and my age, a lot of people unfollowed me and asked why are you doing this. And I am happy they did that, as I wanted the right crowd. It is very important to choose your tribe and finally, the tribe has chosen me. I am grateful for it.”

Sameera also stated that her followers often asked her to cover her grey hair, but she stuck to he stance and showed it all, as it is – without the need to cover anything-up.

“No Botox , no filter , nothing. It’s easy to doubt ourselves at many points. Especially when we grow a year older”- she once announced on her social meida.

“A few years ago I almost caved under pressure that we inflict on ourselves! I wanted to cover up my age with a million fixes and I’m so grateful I chose not to . I’m at peace with myself and that’s priceless”

We all need to embrace ourselves just like this, because our imperfections make us perfect!

Kudos to the message of body positivity and accepting your age gracefully.
