“Rise Above Party Politics”, Kangana Ranaut Appeals To Punjab Government After PM Modi Security Lapse Episode

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security lapse during his Punjab visit yesterday, certainly raised several questions.

PM Modi’s convoy was stopped by angry protestors, and his passage was halted for about 15-20 minutes causing an unprecedented security breach, and raising several questions on the security-related preparations to safeguard the prime minister by the Congress-led Punjab government.

Several political leaders and personalities have come forth to assert that people need to look past political favoritism, to understand the gravity of the situation, as it is the prime minister of the country we’re talking about.

Actress Kangana Ranaut, who has always been very vocal about her socio-political stance on all sorts of current affairs, also gave her two cents on the shocking episode.

Taking to her social media the actress wrote (translated and paraphrased from Hindi) :

“Such a huge lapse in the security of the Prime Minister in Punjab is very worrying.
The Prime Minister belongs to the nation, not to any particular party. Taking moral responsibility, instead of allegation and counter-allegation, the Punjab government should get an investigation done after analyzing it seriously!”

She further reminded people of the country’s political history, wherein we lost two prime ministers – because of security breaches as such:

“Remember, due to these security lapses, we have already lost two Prime Ministers of the country.
The eyes of 135 crore citizens of the country are fixed on the Punjab government, so rising above party politics, strict action should be taken against the culprits immediately.
Hail India.”

No doubt Kangana makes fair points, resonating the sentiment of what most have been feeling after the incident.

Meanwhile, Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi has also asked the Charanjit Singh Channi-led government of Punjab to probe into the matter and seek answers.
