Kangana Ranaut Praises South Film Industry, “They Are Deeply Rooted In Indian Culture”

The success of non-Hindi regional films, particularly those coming from South Indian film industry, has often become a talking point among those in Bollywood.

The recent mega success of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa, which has done a groundbreaking job at the domestic as well as international box office, surpassing all other Indian films released last year, including those big-budget films from Bollywood, is also one such example.

Recently actress Kangana Ranaut also showered praises on South film industry and the stars, giving pointers as to why they stand out so much, as compared to their Bollywood counterparts.

The National Award winning actress, who herself made quite a name for herself in South-film audiences with her latest release – Thalaivii, which became a big success on OTT platforms, took to her Instagram stories with a screenshot about superhit films like Pushpa and KGF 2.

She stated:

“Some of the reasons why south content and superstars are such a rage: 1) They are deeply rooted in Indian culture 2) They love their families and relationships are conventional not westernised 3) Their professionalism and passion is unparalleled.” (sic)

Kangana also took the opportunity to take a dig at Bollywood, stating that Southern film industry should not allow themselves to get ‘corrupted’:

“They should not allow Bollywood to corrupt them”

It is no secret, that Kangana has been at war with some of the biggest names in the Hindi film industry, which has also forced her to go independent and work with limited number of producers and filmmakers. But the actress still never fails to speak her mind without fear, whenever she feels like she has to.

On the work front, Kangana will next be seen in her career’s first major female-led action thriller – ‘Dhaakad’, which is set to be released on May 20, 2022.
