“I Love My Independence Too Much To Give It Up For Marriage,” Says Prachi Desai

Prachi Desai had quite a successful career as a leading lady in the world of television, before she tried her luck in films.

That really does seem like a century ago. Since then Prachi has been seen in films like ‘Rock On!!’ and ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai’.

But when it comes to the subject of marriage, the 33 year old seems to be already over it.

In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Prachi stated how she believes getting married might hamper her independence and freedom, and that she values is way too much to give it up for marriage.

Here is what she was quoted telling the publication:

“You know, I have been married so many times on screen that I think I am done with it for now. Whoever the guy is for me, he better be prepared. I live on my terms and I love my independence too much to give it up for marriage right now. I won’t mind being married a few years later but again, only if and when someone perfect comes along.”

Elaborating further on it, Prachi stated how she has been raised by her parents in a way, that she doesn’t find marriage a compulsion or a way to seek some sort of dependence in your partner:

“My parents have brought me up in such a way that I never saw marriage as a safety net or as something I would do if my career slowed down for a bit or something didn’t work out.”
