Govinda is one of the best things to have happened to the Indian comic scene before the turn of the century.
The iconic actor of some of the most memorable films of the 90’s, that still tickle our funny bones several years later – has been away from the mainstream scene for a while.
But with his enduring legacy, it seem the actor is lured into coming back into the limelight.
The 58 year old has now turned singer, and has released a brand-new song and an accompanying music video.
Entitled ‘Hello’, this in fact, is the actor’s third song – released on his YouTube handle ‘Govinda Royalles’.

Although reminiscent of his 90’s tunes, to some extent, the song hasn’t gone down well even with ardent Govinda-lovers.
The reactions remain divided – from those who have called the song ‘a tribute’ to his 90’s self, to those who have just deemed it sleazy and ‘less than’.
The star has disabled the comment section on his YouTube upload, but fans on social media have discussed how the attempt doesn’t sit well with his enduring legacy as a 90’s legend.
But who knows, it might grow on people in a while and find itself in the track-lists of our drunk parties?
