“I Can Never Live Like A Star”, R. Madhavan Talks About Rejecting ‘Star Culture’

R. Madhavan is truly one of the most down-to-earth celebrities of Indian cinema.

The ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ actor has had plenty success in his career, and yet he remains as grounded as one can be. And that is all due to his belief of not wanting to live like a typical mainstream star.

In a recent interaction with Film Companion, the actor stated that he can never ‘live like a star’, and doesn’t even like wearing designer clothes on a regular basis.

Here’s what he was quoted as saying by the publication:

“I was never financially super settled at any given point of time and never allowed myself to be there. That hunger to create what is called a ‘star life’ has always kept me wanting more. But I have realised I can never live like a star. I’m a terrible star.”

He further added:

“I don’t wear designer clothes, and I can’t afford to have people around me all the time. I also realised how you walk at the airport decides how many people mob you and how many people leave you alone. I don’t think I can ever reach a stage where I can say I’ve made it.”

And that humble-ness is why one continues to grow as an artist. That is the most fundamental principal to allow yourself to retain touch with your humanity.

And that is why we love R. Madhavan even more!
