Deepika Padukone Talks About Her Depression On KBC – “I did not feel like living”

Deepika Padukone made an appearance on the recent episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati and she took the opportunity to spread some more awareness on the subject of depression.

The Padmawat star appeared on a special airing of the show alongside choreographer and director Farhan Akhtar, in a bid to generate money for a charity which benefits people suffering from mental illnesses.

In the middle of the program Deepika reflected back at the time during the shooting of her film Happy New Year, back in 2013, when she became so depressed that she would often break down and cry without knowing the reason why.

Deepika also stated that she had lost the passion to do anything and could not even get out of bed.

The actress also shockingly revealed that she was left with no willingness to live, when her depression was at its peak.

And it was later only helped when she sought professional help.

The visibly emotional and teary eyed Padukone nearly chocked up as she spoke on her experience, bringing light to her plight in a bid to spread awareness on the subject.

We always commend her ability to come out and bring the discussion on the table.

Mental health needs to be discussed.
