Irrfan Khan’s Son Babil Becomes Tearful While Accpeting Award On His Late Father’s Behalf

Irrfan Khan’s son Babil was nearly inconsolable as he made a rare public appearance at an award function recently, to accept an honor on his late father’s behalf.

Irrfan, who’s been highly regarded as one of the greatest actors in Hindi cinema, with a filmography boasting of modern-day classics like – Maqbool, The Lunchbox and Paan Sigh Tomar, to name a few, was presented with a posthumous award, honouring his legacy and his contribution to cinema.

The late star was first paid a worded tribute by actors Ayushamann Khurrana and Rajkumar Rao, which instantly led his 23 year old son, sitting in the audience, to tears.



As he came up on the stage to accept the honor, he stated that he hadn’t really prepared a speech, but thanked everyone around him for being warm and welcoming to him, after the untimely demise of his father.

Needless to say, those in the audience were visibly overwhelmed with emotions, remembering the late icon and witnessing Babil bursting out with tears.

Irrfan Khan died of causes relating to a rare form of cancer in 2020.

He was 53.
