After Winning National Award, Manoj Bajpayee Dedicates It To Those Who Made The Film Possible

Creating artistic, unconvetional and meaningful cinema isn’t easy – especially when it is not backed-up by the right kind of financers who are able foresee a prospective audience.

So many great films are often halted midway their filming process, due to lack of investments faced by subjects that don’t necessarily appeal to the masses.

And Manoj Bajpayee’s ‘Bhosle’ was no exception to that.

The actor who has recently won a ‘Best Actor’ National Film Award for his powerful performance in the hard-hitting drama, has dedicated his victory to those who made the film possible, despite it’s many obstacles – whichi went on for nearly 5 years.

In spite of everything, Manoj is hopeful that there’s going to be change in the industry after the win, with people willing to invest in talent, changing their focus to the same.

In an interview with News 18, here’s what the seasoned actor was quoted as saying:

“I’m extremely happy that finally, Bhonsle has completed its journey with a National Award. We began our journey five years back. We kept on looking for producers but people came in and went away like that. Nobody was there to show any kind of confidence. It took us a lot many years to find small producers to put in the money.”

The actor also hopes that his win makes the industry more “democratic and a place that only focuses on talent and nothing else.”

Well, we can’t help but co-sign with you, Mr. Bajpayee.

The actor’s win was long-overdue after he was snubbed for his ethereal and enchanting performance in Hansal Mehta’s Aligarh.

Congratulations to one of our greats.
