In an unprecedented move, a Bastar married both of his female lovers at the same time – in a single wedding ceremony earlier this month, turning him into internet’s favourite meme of the month.
The marriage ceremony was attended by nearly 500 people, in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar district, as folks witnessed the unusual pairing of the trio, circle around the holy fire to take their vows.
The 24 year old man named Chandu Maurya, fell in love with 21-year-old tribal girl Sundari Kashyap and decided to marry her – some three years ago. A year after that, he fell in love again with 20-year-old Haseena Baghel from his own village, he was conflicted with his previous commitment – until he finally found the solution. He married them both.

“Both Haseena and Sundari came to know about each other and agreed to have a relationship with me. We were in touch over the phone but one day Haseena landed at my home to live with me. When Sundari came to know that Haseena is here, she also came to me. And since then, we started living in the same house like a family,” the man was quoted telling Hindustan Times.
The live-in relationship did not go down well with the conservative locals, following which he decided to officially marry both.
The women have affirmed that they are very happy living with each other and plan to continue to live with their man forever.
