5 Scenes That Prove Kangana Ranaut’s Acting Prowess and Versatility [Videos]

Aside from all countless controversies she has embroiled herself into in the recent past, Kangana Ranaut’s advent to stardom has also seen her as one of the brightest talents in mainstream Hindi cinema.

The actress – who’s won 3 National Awards for her performances in movies like ‘Fashion’, ‘Queen’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’, has delivered some pretty outstanding acts in the past 10 years, which have shown her versatility as a performer.

Even in movies that don’t overall fare well with critics or audiences, her performances always get a thumbs up from both. And that is how her talent stands out.

Looking back at some of her most memorable scenes from her most acclaimed performances, here are her 5 most riveting acting moments:

1)

This powerful scene from Tanu Weds Manu Returns that show her range, playing a dual role with equal finesse. Her grab over the Haryanvi accent and her body language and mannerisms, helped her transform into a different person altogether, so much so, it was hard to believe that both characters were being played by the same actress.

2)

This iconic scene from her career-making role in the movie ‘Queen’, released in the year 2013. The actress’ most natural performance yet, this scene shows her naïve character getting in high spirits, and pouring her heart out after consuming alcohol for the first time in her life.

3)

Her entire performance in the movie – ‘Simran’, an under-rated performance, that was overshadowed by the actress’ personal controversies and interviews. This Hansal Mehta directed flick, featured one of her best performances with her brilliant attempt to put on a Gujarati accent, playing an NRI who’s addicted to stealing and robbing banks.

4)

This scene from ‘Fashion’ – that earned her, her first National Award. Featuring her getting high backstage of a fashion show in which she’s scheduled to perform, and then dismissing the show’s co-ordinator by making a silly face.

5)

The scene from Queen which showcases her playing around with and teasing a cab driver, after a wild night-out at a club. Most Delhiite’s can relate to the dialect and exchange here.

Even though, the actress has strayed into the political realm – with her social commentary grabbing more headlines than her work in the recent past, we hope the focus can soon come back to what made her a standout among Hindi film actresses in the first place – her talent.

Some other of her most powerful acting moments and scenes come from movies like – Rangoon, Tanu Weds Manu, Manikarnika and Judgemental Hai Kya.
