4 Most Shocking Fights in Indian Award Shows – Unscripted and Uncensored

Although a lot seems scripted about our Desi award shows, right down to who is plotted to take home the big trophies – there are some things that go sideways despite it all being planned and rehearsed.

Every now and then we have witnessed some pretty nasty fights and arguments, that make award ceremonies seem like MTV reality shows.

Looking back at some of the most iconic heated exchange of words at these award shows, here’s looking back at 5 of the most brutal, cringy and embarrassing fights on television/award shows:

1) Neil Nitin Mukesh VS Shah Rukh and Saif

It was at the Filmfare award awards, being hosted by Saif Ali Khan and Shah Rukh Khan that a joke pulled by the two on Neil Nitin Mukesh’s name, did not go down well with the latter. When the host duo made fun at Neil’s long name, which is apparently inspired from both his father and grandfather (who’re big industry names of their times), Neil took offense and called them out on the same.

2) Salman Khan VS Mithoon

Salman got all heated-up making us wonder how it would have ended if cameras weren’t around, during his heated exchange with singer and composer Mithoon. When Salman poked fun at Arijit Singh and his song ‘Tum Hi Ho’, which was composed by Mithoon, the latter got into a brawl with with the actor, resulting into Sallu screaming at him to get off the stage. Although it was eventually made to look like it was all a joke, but with how organic the anger on their faces was – we doubt that.

3) Ashutosh Gowarikar VS Sajid Khan

Ashutosh Gowarikar was apparently offended at the Screen Awards and their host Sajid Khan, when he was up for several awards for his work in Jodha Akbar. Gowarikar didn’t like how Khan would often cut people off in the middle of their speeches, poking fun at them and turning it all into a joke – and the embarrassing exchange of words between the two turned the awards into a big-fat tamasha.

4) KRK VS Ali Asgar

Former Bigg Boss contenstant KRK, who’s known for sudden outburst of anger (as seen on the show) got all heated-up when he was presented with the ‘Baalti’ award by the show’s host Ali Asgar – aiming to take jibe at his whole existence. What followed was some pretty nasty insults, and a brief scuffle involving KRK’s bodyguards, in this timelessly entertaining exchange.

Even if most of these Indian awards don’t carry any qualitative value, they certainly entertain you almost as much as a reality show.
