Once Again, People Come Forward To Help 86 Year Old Selling Bhelpuri For Just ₹5 In Faridabad

Right after the story of ‘Baba Ka Dhaba’ touched a million hearts across the nation, inviting several people to come flocking outside the street-shop of the elderly Delhi couple, several such stories have come to light – wherein people have extended help to small food-stall owners, who are struggling to make ends meet, in this unprecedented time of Coronavirius-pandemic.

This time around, an 86 year old senior citizen selling Bhelpuri in Faridabad has caught people’s attention.

It was just a little over a week ago, when Facebook user Vishal Chaubey shared the story of Chhanga Lal Baba, who was spotted selling Bhelpuri on the streets of Faridabad, opposite Sector 37 community center.

“Brother & sisters I request you all that – You don’t need to go delhi to support baba dhaba just look around yourself you will find hundreds of small vendors who work hard for their living so help them.” – Vishal wrote in his post.

It is reported that Mr Lal Baba lost his wife and son a while ago and is now left to take care of his other paralyzed son, his wife and their 3 kids. Early roughly Rs 6000, the family of six is finding it heart to have their basic needs met in these challenging times.

Since most people have stopped eating outside now, or are refraining from doing the same – due to safety measures, a lot of street vendors are going out of work, finding hard to provide for themselves and their families.

The stories being told on internet in the past couple of weeks are only representative of the countless small vendors, who have incurred big blows in their lives, these past few months.

In Chhanga Lal Baba’s case, a number of good Samaritans have come forward to provide financial assistance and supplies for his small shop.

Hope things get better for him and those countless others, who are struggling in these times.
