Over the past couple of months, a number of shocking allegations have been made against the way the Hindi film industry functions.
The treatment of outsiders, the abuse of drugs and the culture of nepotism – have been some of the many points discussed and raised by people like Kangana Ranaut and the supporters of late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput.
Now actress-turned-politician has appeared before the parliament to speak about the constant criticism that has come in the way of Bollywood, stating that the filmy people have often come forward in various national causes and have stood by the governments in the past, and hence should not be targeted in this manner and should receive proper support from the government now.
Jaya also stated, how a lot celebs, have donated money and their resources when it came to social or natural calamities in the country and have done their job in the past. Hence it is not fair to criticise them because of a few.
Entertainment industry also needs the government support as member of parliament rightly states ,It generates employment, revenue generation and does stand by every government in times of need pic.twitter.com/MLEfeq1KMD

This indirect jibe, did not go unnoticed by Kangana Ranaut – who’s more active now on social media, since taking over her official accounts, than she ever was.
In her first response to the video of Jaya speaking in the parliament, Kangana simply asked her to be more considerate about those who are making these allegations and also urged Ms. Bachchan to put her son or daughter in their places.
Jaya ji would you say the same thing if in my place it was your daughter Shweta beaten, drugged and molested as a teenage, would you say the same thing if Abhieshek complained about bullying and harassment constantly and found hanging one day? Show compassion for us also 🙏 https://t.co/gazngMu2bA

In another Tweet, Kangana also called-out Jaya’s way of equating the allegations with all the good the industry has done in the past. The ‘Queen’ actress stated that it was like condoning the act or a rapist, by stating that he also offered the victim some food.
Here’s is tongue-in-cheek response below:
Like a famous choreographer once said “ रेप किया तो क्या हुआ रोटी तो दी ना” is that what you implying? There are no proper HR departments in production houses where women can complain, no safety or insurances for those who risk their lives every day,no 8 hours shift regulations.

The actress also didn’t seem happy with the patronising way in which Jaya named and numbered the kind of help, big stars have provided to those in need in our society, or to the junior artists of the film industry, for that matter.
Here’s what she said in that regard:
This mentality that gareeb ko roti mila toh that’s enough need to change, gareeb ko roti ke saath samman aur payaar bhi chahiye, I have a full list of reforms I want from centre government for workers and junior artists, some day if I meet honourable Prime Minister I will discuss.

Meanwhile, Taapse Pannu and Anurag Kashyap have lauded Jaya Bachchan for speaking out in favour of the industry, with the latter applauding Ms. Bachchan for ‘having a spine’.
