Film Industry Not Created By Karan Johar & His “Papa”, But Crores Of Indians, Says Kangana Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut was apparently not happy with the way Jaya Bachchan called out those criticising the Hindi film industry in the recent past.

Soon after Jaya’s speech in parliament went viral, in which she was heard criticising those who are framing the industry with allegations, pertaining to drug-abuse and corruption, Kangana too took to her Twitter handle to express her disagreement with Ms. Bachhan.

Soon after that a Twitter user responded to her stating that the industry has been curated by the likes of Karan Johar and the hard-work of other producers, implying that Kangana should stop abusing other people’s struggles.

Responding to the same, Kangana stated that the industry, in fact, has not been created by Karan Johar or his father, it has been created by every artist since Dada Saheb Phalke, every labourer and every viewer who chose to buy a ticket. The industry has been created by crores of Indians – she stated.

Beautifully put by Kangana, but we do wish there was a balanced way of tackling these issues, as opposed to the two extremes.

Can we stop with the name-calling from both ends, please?
