Babita Phogat Speaks In Support Of Kangana Ranaut, Asks, “Why The Award-Wapsi Gang is Silent?”

While it is appalling to see zero support for actress Kangana Ranaut from Bollywood, as her dream office in Mumbai was partly torn down to the ground by BMC – at the brink of her ongoing war of wards with the Maharashtra government and Mumbai police, athlete Babita Phogat has come out and questioned the deafening silence.

The BMC – which is presently front and center, being accused of unethical use of their power for personal vendetta, the silence of the Hindi film fraternity on the issue is equally sickening, considering how a lot of them have often been proactively speaking on socio-political issues, in the recent past.

Phogat posted a video of herself on her social media handle, extending her support to the ‘Queen’ actress and calling out the silence of what she deemed the ‘award-wapsi’ gang – in reference to those, who were recently known for returning their government honors, as a protest against the BJP.

Here’s an excerpt of what Babita stated in the video:

“The way the Uddhav Thackeray government demolished Kangana’s office, it is clear that they are flustered. Their disgusting mentality is being seen by the entire country. Do they think they can scare Kangana with this and silence her? If yes, then they are mistaken, because Kangana is not one to get scared.”

She further added:

“The entire country is standing with her. I want to appeal to my fellow countrymen to not let our sister’s strength and courage weaken, otherwise, in the future, no sister will have the courage to speak up.”

She then went on to call out the silence of B-town biggies on the issue:

“I don’t understand one thing. So much happened in Mumbai but why is the ‘candle gang’ and award wapsi gang of Bollywood silent? Can they not see what is happening? Why are they so quiet? The entire country is witnessing the disgusting mentality of the Uddhav Thackeray government and they will soon give a befitting reply.”

Watch her outburst below:

Public marches and protests have emerged at multiple sites across India, particularly close to Kangana’s hometown in Himachal Pradesh, after the incident in Mumbai.

Would be interesting to see which direction the case goes in the court now.
