RIP Irrfan Khan: Remembering His Ten Best Movies & Roles

Irrfan Khan achieved what majority of actors fail to do in mainstream Bollywood.

The versatile and naturally gifted actor had the ability to drown you into the complexities of his characters, just within a few seconds of arriving on screen. Few actors have that kind of powerful impact, when it comes to projecting unignorable humanity on films. But Irrfan did that with ease. That was his gift, and he shared it with the world since he was first seen on the big screen in Meera Nair’s Oscar winning – Salaam Bombay in 1988.

The actor passed away on 29th April, 2020, battling colon infection in Mumbai, only a few years after surviving a rare form of cancer and getting treated for the same abroad.

He was 53.

With a catalogue of films that eclipses a lifetime of work of several mainstream ‘stars’, Irrfan will also be remembered as a path-breaking, game-changing talent – who shone bright for over 30 years of his career, based on his on-screen charm and pure art.

To remember this screen legend, here’s remembering some of his best work on screen, with some memorable scenes:

10) Hindi Medium

9) Haasil

8) Life…in a Metro

7) Piku

6) Life Of Pi

5) Talvar

4) The Namesake

3) The Lunchbox

Honorable mention to ‘Salaam Bombay’ – which was when the world saw him on the big-screen for the first time, in a brief but still impactful, appearance.
