The songbird supreme of India Lata Mangeshkar was recently admitted to the hospital due to a severe chest infection, and it had all her fans worried.
The 90 year old singing veteran was being treated for a viral infection, which required for her to be taken to the ICU of Mumbai’s Beach Candy hospital on Monday morning.
The singer was taken to the ICU at around 2:30 AM, following which her condition is said to be stable now.
Here is what her family was quoted as telling the media-persons in a statement:
“Lata didi suffered from a viral chest infection so we got her to the hospital. But now, she is on a path of recovery. Thank you for your concern. Keeping her age in mind, as a precautionary measure, she has checked in to Breach Candy Hospital in order to ensure antibiotics on time to prevent any more infection. She is stable and recovering.”
While still at the Intensive Care Unit, the ace songstress is presently being kept under observation, while her condition is being analysed.
A hospital official did state that her condition was serious initially, as she is being looked by cardiologists.
“She is serious. She has been kept under senior cardiologists and undergoing series of medical diagnosis.” – an official said.
