CISF team recently gave a heartwarming honorary tribute to senior dogs who had served with the armed-forces in the nation’s capital.
The canine warriors of our force were given a beautiful farewell during their retirement ceremony, after devoting eight years of their fabulous dog lives to the service of our country.
The four-legged heroes were given medals, mementos and certificates in an event organised in New Delhi.
The CISF Twitter handle shared pictures from the beautiful ceremony and everyone simply melted looking at them.
‘Born as a dog, retired as a soldier,’ they wrote in the caption.

Reports suggest that it was actually the first time ever, an honorary retirement function like that was organised for the canine officers.
Isn’t that wonderful?

For those of you wondering, what happens to them now and who’s going to look after them in their old age?
The dogs have been transferred to Delhi-based NGO – Friendicoes, who are going to shelter them and look after them. They are also going to be put up for adoption, the details of which were also shared on Twitter as follows:
These dogs have served the Nation for seven years, now age catching. You can adopt them and give them a loving home. All you need to do is submit an affidavit.
