After Declaring War On “Videshi Brands”, Ramdev’s Patanjali Planning To Do Business With Them

Remember how Ramdev’s Patanjali was declared a ‘swadeshi brand’ – and the entire marketing campaign for the products revolving around supporting a brand that is created in India, for Indians?

Well, now that the campaign seems to have worked out for those behind it, it seems there’s no longer a need to oppose foreign brands with the same kind of zeal that was shown before.

Years after the ‘nationalism’ brand campaign started and Ramdev urged people to not indulge into foreign-made products, the company may now be looking forward to doing business tie-up’s with some multinational brands.

“We have three-four offers from global companies who are keen to do international deals with Patanjali,” the company’s chief executive Acharya Balkrishna was quoted as telling The Economic Times. “We are not averse to working with multinationals, as long as it doesn’t clash with our values. We aren’t rejecting them just because they are MNCs. We are looking at the offers.”

Interesting, considering how the company had started initially. But not surprising, since they had been seeing a decline in their customers and their overall market share in the recent past.
