21 Years Of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai: Karan Johar Rememebers His Debut Film as a Director

It was more than 2 decades ego, Karan Johar’s motion picture debut as a director swept 90’s teenagers and young love-birds off their feet.

The emotional rom-com which made all of us bawl our eyes out when it was released, turns 21 this year and Mr. Johar took the opportunity to get nostalgic over a much simpler time, both in movies and perhaps in the minds of those who grew up in that era.

Sharing an image of the film’s leading trio – Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji and Kajol, the director and producer wrote the following in the caption of his Instagram post:

“Firsts are always special! The cast, crew, music and the heart and soul of this film was all in the right place. Thank you for making this journey a timeless one even after 21 years!”

Actors like Kiara Advani and Tanishaa Mukherji too chimed-in, calling it their ‘favorite film ever!’

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai – also abbreviated to K2H2, was one of the biggest films of 1998, sweeping almost every award that year and making us all a crying wreck for all the heartbreak caused to the two poor Anjali’s of the film.

What are your memories of this timeless potboiler?
