Ageism and sexism have long been running in the Indian film industry.
While male actors continue to play ‘heroes’ in their respective genres even in their 50’s, with examples like Sanjay Dutt and Shah Rukh Khan, female actors continue to be left out of the party by the moment they touch their late 30’s.
The sexist form of this ageism has been prevailing in the industry, resulting into a dearth of female talent beyond a certain demographic.
To make it worse, we often see the male stars of the movie biz playing romantic interests of 20-something year old newbie females, which further mocks the situations and loudly affirms the fact, that Bollwoood just doesn’t treat its female stars the same way as it does its male counterparts.
Serving as the latest example of that trend, Salman Khan will yet again be seen playing the love-interest of an upcoming young female starlet.
Khan, 53, would now be seen romancing Mahesh Manjrekar’s 20-something daughter, Saiee, in his next flick – the third sequel to his hit franchise – Dabangg.

Saiee, who’s filmmaker and actor, Mahesh Manjrekar’s youngest daughter has already shot for a major portion of the film as per media reports, the news of which has left the internet scratching their heads.
