David Dhawan’s upcoming ambitious project – a remake of his own comedy classic, Coolie No.1 has found another addition to its cast.
Joining the stellar starcast is seasoned comedian Rajpal Yadav, supporting the remake’s leading pair – Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan.
While Dhawan will be reprising the iconic role originally popularized by Govinda, Sara will be seen playing his on-screen love interest, which was portrayed by Karishma Kapoor in the original.

Yadav, who’s gone through a rough patch recently, having served a prison sentence for non-payment of a loan couldn’t be more thankful of David Dhawan, for casting him in the role.
Here is what he was quoted telling IANS:
“I’m thankful to David Dhawan sir and Varun for giving an opportunity to be a part of Coolie No. 1 remake. This is the third time that I’m acting with Varun. I am really excited about this remake.”
“Ram Gopal Varmaji’s Jungle established me as an actor, Priyadarshan sir’s Hungama made me popular, and David sir re-established me with Judwaa 2. So, I’m grateful for this opportunity,” he further added.
Rajpal is widely known for his impeccable comic performances in movies like Bhool Bhuliyaan, Hungama, Bhaagam Bhaag, Chup Chup Ke, Kal Ho Naa Ho, among others.
It would be a delight to see what he brings to the table with his second innings into movies.
