A 23 year old woman from Madhya Pradesh, India has garnered headlines for filing for divorce from her husband, on account of his refusal to take a bath.
Filing an official complaint against her smellier-half, the woman asserted that the man did not take a bath for nearly 7-8 days in a row and refused to shave off his beard, eventually smelling of being unclean.
The woman stated that her husband refused to take a shower and not only stank of it but also ‘wore perfume to beat the odour.’
The couple – which got married last year in an ‘arranged marriage’, has now mutually consented for a divorce, following which the court has asked them to live separately for a period of six months, first.
Counselor Shail Awasthi from the court was also quoted telling news agency PTI about the increasing trend of couples filing for divorces over the pettiest of issues these days.
