Playing Acid-Attack Survivor Laxmi, Deepika Padukone Spotted Shooting For ‘Chhapaak’ In Delhi

After sharing the first look of her upcoming flick, ‘Chhapaak’ a few days ago, Deepika Padukone has begun shooting for the Meghan Gulzhar directorial.

Based on the life and struggles of acid attack survivor and social activist, Laxmi Agarwal – the film is being produced by Deepika herself, and is also being termed as the “toughest role of her career so far.”

A character that will stay with me forever…#Malti Shoot begins today!#Chhapaak Releasing-10th January, 2020. @meghnagulzar @atika.chohan @foxstarhindi @vikrantmassey87
The movie also marks Deepika’s debut as a film producer, as she also attempts to break-free from being stereotyped any further with her usually ‘glamorous roles.’

Co-starring Vikrant Massey and featuring the ‘Padmaavat’ actress donning prosthetic makeup to resemble the protagonist, after the latter was attacked by 2 men in the year 2005, when she was only 15 – the movie’s initial release has been set to 10th January 2020.

Shooting some of the scenes in Delhi’s busy roads, Deepika’s look and appearance managed to grab headlines yet again.

The make-up department seems to have done a good job at it. Hopefully Miss Padukone manages to pull off the role as we expect her to, as well (Although we do have my apprehensions about the choice of the movie’s title).

What do you think?
