Earlier this month we had listed ‘Kalank’ as one of the most anticipated Bollywood flicks of 2019. The Abhishek Varman directed and Karan Johar produced period drama, boasts of an impressive star cast, which includes – Madhuri Dixit, Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha, and seems like a promising and visually stunning treat, by the looks of its first teaser.
Unveiled earlier today, the nearly-two-minute extended first-look boasts of ethnically-heavy costumes and settings, in the lines of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opuses, without giving away too much about the plot.
Based in the 1940’s, the brief teaser gives a glimpse of a bull-fight scene featuring Varun Dhawan and a not-so-happy matrimony featuring Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy.
‘Kalank’ is stated for a theatrical release on 17 April 2019.
