Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika Manages to Gross 150 Crore Worldwide!

Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika has turned into a profitable venture, surpassing its whopping budget of 99 crores in a period of 3 weeks and 2 days.

The historical saga, based on the life of the notorious and heroic queen of Jhansi, has touched a number of milestones during its run at the box office, which includes earning the title for the ‘biggest single day collection’ by a female-led film (On the second day of its release, Saturday, the movie earned more than 19 crores in India).

 

Earning 61.50 crores in the first week, 23. 40 crores in the second and 11.64 crores in the third week, the movie’s three week collection stood at – 96.54 crores.

Raking-in another 47 Lakh and 65 Lakh on its fourth Friday and Saturday, respectively, Manikarnika’s total nett collection in the domestic market now stands at 97.66 crores, with 120.65 crores in Gross collections.



Speaking of the movie’s overseas collection, the war-drama has managed to rake-in nearly 30 crores, bringing its worldwide total gross collection to well over 150 crores.

 

Although the movie was expected to do a lot better than this, it was initially marred by negative reviews from popular critics and a number of other controversies. A solid word of mouth came to the ambitious project’s rescue, and it managed to establish a steady run at the box office.

The movie is already in the ‘profits’ region considering the digital distribution rights were previously sold to Amazon Prime Video for 40 crore while the satellite rights were purchased at 25 crore.



Earning a new feat for female-driven films, the movie certainly marks Kangana’s return as the ‘reigning Queen of Indian Box Office.’
