Kangana Ranaut is riding high on the worldwide success of her ambitious project – Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.
The 3-time National Award winning actress, managed to turn her historical epic, created on a budget of 102 crores, into a profitable venture – which is quite a feat for a female-led Bollywood film of this scale.
Freshly off the promotional gigs for the movie and the shooting legs for her upcoming crime-thriller ‘Mental Hai Kya’ co-starring Rajkumar Rao, Kangana has now kick-started the shooting for yet another anticipated project, titled, ‘Panga.’
Directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, the movie revolves around an Indian family who dares to challenge societal norms and stereotypes, with Kangana portraying the role of a national-level Kabbadi player.
One the first day of Ranaut’s shoot for the flick, the Panga team threw a little celebration for the actress on the success of her period war-drama, with a cake that read “158 Crores++”, referring to the worldwide collections of ‘Manikarnika.’

Speaking on the project in an earlier interview, here is what Kangana said:
“I could really relate to the emotions of the film. Panga is doubly special for me as for the first time, I will play the role of a National-level Kabbadi player. That’s going to be challenging for sure! I am looking forward to some exciting times with Ashwiny and the Fox Star team.”

With the noteworthy success of ‘Manikarnika’, things look promising for Ranaut in the year ahead as she gears for the release of two more anticipated projects in the coming months, ‘Mental Hai Kya’ and ‘Panga.’
