Diwali Celebrations in London: Large Group of Women Dance to ‘Ghoomar’ on Trafalgar Square!

No matter what part of the world we might be in – as Indians, Diwali has to be one of the grandest celebrations of the year.

Even the ‘every-year preparations’ of the festival alone incite a sense of happiness, before the actual day of ‘lights and sweets’ arrives. And Indians living abroad are no exception to experiencing that fervor.

To mark the commencement of the major festive season, a group of women in United Kingdom organized a large flash-mob, performing to the peppy number from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat – ‘Ghoomar.’

Taking to the streets of London’s Trafalgar Square, the ‘pre-Diwali’ celebration featured a pretty huge get-together of Indian women, dressed in beautiful multi-colored outfits and dancing to a rehearsed choreography on the superhit song.

As spectators gathered around the humongous area that the dancers covered, the Diwali celebrations were announced with much ‘elan’ in London.

Should we have a similar flash-mob here in our cities too?
