Mahabharata – one movie project that has been a dream for several Indian filmmakers and actors for decades.
Despite a number of B-town biggies attempting to fuel the project for longer than most of us can remember, the magnum-opus hasn’t been able to come to celluloid, because of it’s demanding scale and magnitude.
So will it finally see the light of the day anytime soon?
If the recent reports doing the rounds are to be believed, the much-awaited saga may finally hit the production floor. But instead of aiming for the big-screens, it would now be created as a 7-part web series – with a whopping budget of 1000 crores.
Take it with a pinch of salt as a ‘source’ close the project spilled the beans to Bollywood Hungama, revealing that the much-hyped depiction will be helmed by Aamir Khan, who would portray the main character of Lord Krishna.

Financially – the series will be supported by Mukesh Ambani, and each part of the series will be directed by a different filmmaker.
The question – if you’re producing a project on that scale, why not give it a theatrical release, to let us have the big-screen experience of it’s grandeur and enormity?
