Kangana Ranaut Extends Support to Tanushree: “Raja Beta Needs To Be Told The Meaning of ‘No'”

Kangana Ranaut has always spoken about the kind of discrimination women and ‘outsiders’ have to face in the Hindi movie industry. Her no-hold-barred confessions pertaining to her own troubled affairs from the past, with some of the most popular and powerful names in Bollywood, speak volumes about her courage and ability to tell it like it is.

So when the whole country is debating on and talking about the case between Tanushree Dutta and Nana Patekar, in which the actress has brought to light an incident of alleged sexual assault which had taken place nearly 10 years ago, Kangana is not going to keep ‘mum’ about it like other A-list stars.

Extending her support to Tanushree, the Queen of Bollywood had some ‘tough’ words on whatever has been going on since Tanushree made the accusations.

Here is what star had to say:

“I am not here to pass judgment. That’s neither my place nor my intention. I appreciate her courage to speak about alleged harassment that has been caused to her. It’s her and the accused’s fundamental right to speak about their experience of the same situation. Unfortunately, the way most Indian men are raised by their mothers; they even lack basic etiquettes like lifting the lid before peeing.”

Keep vibe positif kangana 👌👌👌 #kanganaranut #tanushreedutta #goals #areabollywod #bollywoodindonesia #headline #headlinecapture #hindustan

She further added:

“Raja beta needs to be told the meaning of ‘NO’ as well. It’s in the interest of society that the Raja betas are told what their parents fail to tell them. They must know that the fundamental human rights are the same for men and women. Trust me, it will be news to some of them. The kind of rape, harassment and teasing news reports we hear every other day, I wonder if some of these zombies out there qualify to be a human.”

Kangana certainly hits the nail with her comment on the issue as a whole.

Here’s the thing, Bollywood is not spineless. It is only spineless and diaphragm-less when it has to say something about the women who have been abused by powerful male celebrities. Tanushree Dutta’s accusations against veteran actor Nana Patekar and director and censor board chief Vivek Agnihotri have exposed the industry’s hollow claims of working towards women empowerment. Apparently that ‘raja beta’ is a commentary on the mentality that fails to stop a ‘spoiled male child’ despite a wrongdoing and only condones his actions to feed their own patriarchal views.

Because after all, no matter what he does, the ‘raja beta’ is the ‘chiraag’ of the house, right?

Whichever direction the story between Tanushree and Nana, unfolds in (and we’ll leave that to be decided in a court of law, if it ever goes there) – Tanushree’s allegations have certainly opened up the gates for other possible victims of past sexual assault and abuse to finally step-up!

Let us at least give our ears to them.
