Kuch Kuch Hota Hai – the movie that ignited several young romances back in the 90’s and gave a generation it’s most iconic coming-of-age love story.
Nearly 20 years after the release of the massive tear-jerker, Karan Johar – the filmmaker responsible for bringing it to celluloid is now considering a sequel for the same.
K2H2 (as it was called back in the day) was actually Johar’s debut flick as a director and fetched him numerous awards the following year. Not to mention that it was the highest grossing film of the year and third film ever to cross the 100-crores mark (Yes! It was a big deal then!).
Speaking on the possibilities of reliving and recreating the tale with a modern-twist, Karan threw some light on who might feature as the ‘new trio’ of the sequel – if it ever comes to fruition.
Johar’s immediate wishlist for the flick includes – Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and his new on-screen fascination – Jahnvi Kapoor.
The original released in the year 1998 – featured the iconic pairing of Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerjee and Kajol – with a ‘surprise’, supporting role from Salman Khan.
So would a remake be able to live up to memories created by one of the biggest classics of the 90’s?
