Rajkumar Rao has long been hailed as the ‘unsung-hero’ of Bollywood – whose humble-budgeted, artistically-compelling flicks have managed to ring a bell and strike a chord with young audiences.
The talented actor, who’s time and again proven his metal with performances in movies like ‘Newton’ and ‘Trapped’ – is next to be seen in probably his “most mainstream” project yet – the Atul Manjrekar directed, light-hearted musical-comedy – Fanney Khan.
Rao’s role in the movie becomes all-the-more exciting (especially for the actor himself) as he gets to romance none other than, Aishwarya Rai – who plays a renowned pop-star in the flick.
Speaking on his “crackling” chemistry with the beauty queen, Rajkumar stated how his part was Aish was actually quite ‘fun’ and how he remains in-awe of the actress both on and off screen.
Here is what he was quoted telling PTI:
“It is a great story and I loved my part. It was very exciting to work with Anil sir and Aishwarya. It was a fascinating experience. My whole romantic side with Aishwarya was really fun. It was great. My character is in awe of her in the film. And I am in awe of her in real life. It was a very weird combination.”

The intriguing chemistry of this year’s most off-beat on-screen pair was quite visible in the first track from the movie which featured a number of their adorable moments from the flick:
