In the sea of talent that has existed in the contemporary Indian music realm, there have been some undeniably stand-out voices that have managed to stand above the crowd.
From Sonu Nigam’s sweet, flawless, crooning tones that have given him longevity and relevance for the past 20 years or so, to the new-found infatuation with voices like Arijit Singh and Papon – who, for the present generation, have churned out hit after hit.
Today’s Soundpasta poll is going to concentrate on the very best male voices of the present-day music scene – singers who have stood-out from the majority and have given a unique, distinct sound with their voices. The focus would be to concentrate on those vocalists, who are relevant to today’s music scene and are currently active, which would include singers who came-in yesterday and those who have been relevant for the past 20 years.
So we’re not going include yesteryear voices like Kishore Kumar or Mukesh (Maybe we’ll do a separate poll for them!).
From the technically-perfect Shankar Mahadevan to naturally soulful Kailash Kher, it is time for you to cast your vote for ‘the best male voice of the past 20 years’!
