Despite retiring from modeling a long time ago and not really appearing on any significant movie role for the most part of his career, Milind Soman has almost always managed to remain in the spotlight without really doing much for it.
The model-turned-actor-turned-fitness-guru’s relevance is still intact after all these years, as at 52 – he still manages to grab eyeballs internet’s interest with bare minimum of efforts.
So why is it that despite continuing to being a familiar name and face – Milind does not or has not been featured in mainstream Bollywood movies?
The actor speaks on the subject and reveals how he’s lack of ‘friends and a strong network’ that keeps him from getting good roles from the industry.
“Nobody wants to cast me in films, yes that is true. I do not know why, but that is the reality,” Milind told IANS.
He further added:
“Once in a while, film offers come to me and I do that. I am interested in performance though… I like acting. It is a well-paid job and according to some people, I am good at it.”
Putting some more perspective on why he may not have to associate with the ‘mainstream stuff’ at all, the actor said:
“I think people do not associate me with the mainstream… Only the urban people (maybe). I do not have friends and network with the commercial cinema world. In every business, the network is important.”
