Lata Mangeshkar shares a ‘Selfie’ she took in the 1950’s with Twitter Followers

Lata Mangeshkar – naam hi kaafi hai.

One of the most formidable voices of the 20th century, whose legacy resonates and lingers through the countless newbies aspiring to follow in her footsteps – also happens to be pretty active on social media.

With a following of over 13 million people on Twitter, the songstress (and at times her team) is constantly posting about various rare stuff and tidbits from an era gone-by.

Recently, the queen of music shared an old, vintage photograph of herself on the occasion of World Photography Day. The picture, which was taken some time in the 1950’s – is apparently a self-clicked image, as Lata recalls, pointing out that in today’s time, people may just term it a – ‘selfie.’

“Sharing my ‘self clicked’ picture, which was clicked in 1950’s,” the singer wrote. “Today, it’s known as ‘selfie’”

Yep! So Mizz Lata Mangeshkar clicked a selfie more than 60 years ago – before it all became a social fad.

The ‘Lag Ja Gale’ hitmaker shared another shot of herself, from the same era, in which the focus of her camera was another object around her.

Fingers crossed she also shares a rare recording from the same time soon!

Happy Selfie Photography day to you to Lataji!
