It was a bitter-sweet celebration of the life and times of one of the most celebrated actresses of Indian Cinema – Sridevi, when her family attended a special screening of one of her most iconic Bollywood flicks, ‘Mr. India.’
The occasion was the late actress’ 55th birthday on the 13th of August, which was celebrated in public by remembering her for her work as an actor, including a string of her flicks played-out in a two-day period.
Attending the special screening of one her movies in Delhi, were family members – Boney Kapoor and daughters Jahnvi and Khushi Kapoor.
Pictures from the ceremony also revealed how the family couldn’t hold back their emotions after one of the screenings. Both Jahnvi and Boney were seen holding back their tears, while remembering the beloved actress.
Speaking on how his love for the superstar came to be, Boney told the press in the event:
“Today this vacuum, this void cannot be replaced but the good wishes and the goodwill that she has left behind is something that we can live with. She is with me, in my memories. With my children. I fell in love with her when I saw her for the first time on the screen. It was one-sided love since the beginning. I chased her in the sense that I went to Chennai to sign her but unfortunately, she was not available at that time. I was in awe of her, her work.”
Indeed hard to let go of someone who’s had such a big impact.
