It has been over 6 decades since Filmfare started off as one of the first mainstream award shows to acknowledge the best of Hindi movie industry every year.
Although it remains debatable – how the institution has stayed true to that notion – it doesn’t take away the large viewership the annual award-show enjoys, thanks to its star studded televised ceremonies and popularity-driven choices of winners.
Just like we had previously compiled the list of all the ‘Best Film’ Filmfare winners over the years, today we’ll be concentrating on all those ‘leading-heroes’ that have catapulted further into their stardom – all thanks to the gorgeous black lady.
A number of big-shots have ruled the top-notch categories of the award show – one of the most significant of which is the award for ‘Best Actor’ – acknowledging the work of male leads from some of the most talked-about flicks each year.
Starting from the first win by Dilip Kumar back in the year 1954 to the most recent win by Irrfan Khan for his comedy-drama, ‘Hindi Medium’ – the years in between have seen the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Naseeruddin Shah and others being acknowledged for their work.
