Among those names of honorees – were the recently deceased movie stars – Vinod Khanna and Sridevi – who were honored for their work by the committee.
While Sridevi was awarded the ‘Best Actress’ honor for her work in her last project as leading actress, ‘Mom’, Vinod Khanna was honored with a special ‘Dadasahab Phalke Award’ for his contribution to the world of cinema.
To receive the award on behalf of the late stars – their respective families showed up,
Khanna’s honor was received by his wife Kavita and son Akshaye Khanna while Sridevi’s ‘Best Actress’ award was received by husband Boney Kapoor and daughters Jahnvi and Khushi Kapoor.
It was certainly an emotional moment for both the families as the collected the respective honors on the beloved actors’ behalf.
Speaking on his father’s work being acknowledged during the ceremony, Akshaye said:
“It is very humbling as a son to be receiving this on his behalf. It’s a very proud and emotional moment for all of us.”
A quiet looking Jahnvi, accompanied her father while receiving the honor and was seen wearing one of her late mother’s favorite sarees.
